Origins of Lawson

We would like to explain the company name of Lawson and our trademark white milk can against a blue background. In 1939, Mr. J. J. Lawson ran a store selling milk in Ohio, the United States. This store earned enormous popularity in this district as "Mr. Lawson’s Milk Store", which provided fresh and delicious milk, and many customers came to buy milk there every morning. After that Mr. J. J. Lawson established Lawson Milk Co., which began selling also the necessities of life, such as articles for daily use, and implemented development as a chain store mainly in the northeastern America. The chain name, the convenience store "Lawson", and the milk can logo which suggests an American firm in reality, came from the origin of the milk store "Lawson" in the United States. In 1959, Lawson Milk Co. became an affiliated company of the American food giant, Consolidated Foods Corp., and not only expanded store development widely, out of Ohio, but also established the convenience store operating system (at the present there is no store under the name of Lawson in the United States).
